"By the Fire" is an informal, very lively discussion circle of people from across North America and from other parts of the world - South Africa, the U.K., Australia. The youngest member is a computer programmer from the New England area who is dealing with issues of marriage and masculinity; the oldest is an inquiring 80-year-old from Toronto whose wisdom and insight continue to amaze the group.

Issues that are discussed include:

• our fears of and attractions to enchantment, wonder, mystery, vitality...
  
• the liabilities and values of being a questioner and learner...
  
• intimacy, distance, feeling, hurting...
  
• encountering the masculine and feminine in everyday relationships...
  
• creativity and artfulness, spirituality and soul.
